Flierl Addressing HANYS Marketing ConferenceSubtitle of announcementOctober 27, 2002 -- FLIERL ADDRESSING COMMUNICATORS AT HEALTHCARE ASSOCIATION OF NEW YORK STATE (HANYS) MARKETING CONFERENCE (Los Angeles, CA) Peter Flierl, M.S.W. will discuss Prayer, Laughter & Broccoli: Being There When Your Wife Has Breast Cancer at PERCEPTION…and REALITY, the Fifth Annual Conference for Health Care Communications Professionals, being held at The Gideon Putnam Hotel & Conference Center in Saratoga Springs, New York on Thursday & Friday, October 31-November 1. The conference is sponsored by the Healthcare Association of New York State and Iroquois Healthcare Association with support from American Hospitals Patient Guide, Inc.
Flierl received a B.A. in English from Hobart College and an M.S.W. in Clinical Social Work from Louisiana State University School of Social Welfare. He has over 30 years experience in the world of voluntary, not-for-profit health care. This included fundraising, program and service innovation and development, public relations and marketing and organizational leadership. Peter’s work over the past 20 years touched tens of thousands of lives and resulted in the creation of a $2.5 million endowment to fund community health and wellness services in southwest Connecticut and bordering Westchester communities.
Flierl is an accomplished speaker on health and healing in body, mind and spirit. He emphasizes personal growth, learning and development through out our lives. Among his most popular talks and workshops are: Starting Over at 56; Aging Well, Living Creatively; Discovering & Recovering Your Creative Self; Loving Yourself. Peter is an inveterate optimist.
